Promises to the Sea – Experimental Travel Documentary

I’ve always dreamed of making a film about the sea — about those fleeting hours spent by the water, when everything slows down, when the salt and wind seem to cleanse the soul, and simply being feels enough.

That dream has always carried me back in time — to childhood summers by the sea, to the family house where memory lives in every small detail, sound, and scent.

One summer, I tried to capture that feeling. For five days, during a family trip to the sea, I followed my parents, my grandmother, and myself with the camera, filming everything I could. Later, I began piecing it together — not just as a record, but as a memory for us to keep, and for me to fully embrace. Moments by the sea, together.

This film is for my dear family — and for myself — a quiet fulfillment of the dreams I once held close. To preserve what can be preserved, and to share with those I love how I see the beauty of the life we have.
