Constructed Reflections (انعكاسات مشيدة) – Experimental Documentary Film
This short documentary explores the architectural diversity of Cairo — from elegant villas and towering city blocks to the dense, improvised ‘ashwa’eyat’ (a term for spontaneous or unplanned buildings).
Seen through the eyes of my younger self, it drifts through the city’s many layers with a sense of wonder and quiet observation — where every wall, balcony, and rooftop feels alive with stories. Accompanied by soundscapes that echo Cairo’s restless pulse, it becomes a reflection on how the city we grow up in shapes not only what we see, but how we remember.
