The Batal Ahmed Tale is a self-initiated video project, created in 2014.

It's a carefully put together compilation of footage shot from the window of my former apartment in Cairo, overlooking the busy Batal Ahmed Abdel Aziz Street, combined with Philip Glaas' music piece 'That Place'.

The project aims to shed light on the diversity of stories that can be found on a busy central street in Cairo. Differences of social class and struggles of the everyday are emphasized, but moments of laughter and enjoyment also do not cease to exist in the chaos.
Put together, the footage resembles a show that plays daily, available at all times.
